New bow design - better performance?

This is a report about a vessel which does not exist, but where we wish to show off the possibilities of the interactive report. A ship can be designed both with and without a bow bulb. The intention of a bow bulb is to reduce the resistance force. Doing this correctly can ensure that the ship does not encounter so much resistance on the voyage from A to B, which again reduces the required energy consumption.

If all vessels in the world managed to reduce their energy consumption to the optimal point, then who knows? Maybe we would be able to reduce oil consumption drastically, and perhaps even convert from conventional fuels to battery driven ships. Imagine being able to charge your vessels directly from renewable energy, would not that be a treat?
